WWE Superstar and former Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy lost his home to fire late Friday night.
Hardy was not at home at the time of the blaze. His home is being reported as a total loss.
At this time, the Superstar has been unavailable for comment on the incident.
News reports state that Moore County Fire Department officials currently list the cause of the fire as "undetermined." Fire department officials also stated that foul play is not being investigated, as Hardy reportedly told investigators that he did not have insurance on his home.
On his personal blog, Raw commentator Jim Ross reported that Jeff's brother, Matt, saw smoke coming from Jeff's home late Friday night and was able to confirm that no one was home, but was too late to do anything to save the house.

He survived against all the odds; now Peng Shulin has astounded doctors by learning to walk again. When his body was cut in two by a lorry in 1995, it was little short of a medical miracle that he lived.

It took a team of more than 20 doctors to save his life.
Skin was grafted from his head to seal his torso? but the legless Mr Peng was left only 78cm (2ft 6in) tall.Bedridden for years, doctors in China had little hope that he would ever be able to live anything like a normal life again.

But recently, he began exercising his arms, building up the strength to carry out everyday chores such as washing his face and brushing his teeth.
Doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing found out about Mr Peng's plight late last year and devised a plan to get him up walking again.

They came up with an ingenious way to allow him to walk on his own, creating a sophisticated egg cup-like casing to hold his body with two bionic legs attached to it. He has been taking his first steps around the centre with the aid of his specially adapted legs and a resized walking frame.
Mr Peng, who has to learn how to walk again, is said to be delighted with the device.

During a party , a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. (they offered to call ambulance)

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm , Ingrid passed away.)
She had suffered a stroke at the party . Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today..

Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this...

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster.
The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions :

S * Ask the individual to SMILE .
T * = TALK. Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (eg " It is sunny out today" ).
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS .

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call the ambulance and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

NOTE : Another 'sign' of a stroke is
1. Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue.
2. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.

This is a real incident that happened in a local hospital in bangalore, India .
A 4 year old girl was admitted due to leg fracture. As it was an open fracture, she had to undergo an operation to stitch the protruding bone back in place. Though it was quite a minor operation, she was hooked on to life support system, as a part of the process. The doctors had to input some data prior to the operation to suit different conditions.
Thereafter, the operation proceeded. Half way through the process, the life support system suddenly went dead.

The culprit: -
Some one was using his/her hand-phone outside the operation theatre. And the frequency had affected the system. They tried to track the fellow but to no avail. The little girl, young and innocent as she was, died soon after.

"Be compassionate! Do not use your hand phone /mobiles especially at any hospitals or within the Aircraft or any places where you are told not to Use it... You might not be caught in the act, but you might have killed someone without knowing". Sometimes it's a matter of Life & Death....!!!!

Fear is resistance. Any time we find ourselves denying, avoiding or escaping our experiences, fear is the motivator. We are capable of not only resisting the negatives, but we can be equally effective in resisting the positives. For example, let us say that I am ecstatically delighted about my new romance and that I want to shout my love and happiness from the roof tops! But I have have bought into my social conditioning which places limits on how happy and expressive I can be at any given time. Instead of allowing myself to shout from the roof tops I squelch my enthu. When i speak to others about my love relationship, I remember what I have been telling myself: "This may not last and I had better 'be cool'....." I deny myself the authenticity of my feelings of joy and excitement and instead adopt a doubting, fear-based attitude. I give fear(resistance) more power in my life than love(acceptance). Invalidation of my experience places me in limitation and fear.

LOVE IS ACCEPTANCE. FEAR IS RESISTANCE.

As a whole, our society fears (resists) expressing and allowing our true feelings. Fear has run rampant as the primary motivator. The realm of feelings has been frightening ground upon which to tread. How many of u grew up hearing many phrases like "Don't be.... sad, angry, hurt afraid","Be a gud girl/boy"," Act like a man/adult", "Big boys/girls don't cry." The underlying message is: Do not act in alignment with how you really feel. Allowing and experiencing our true feeling has been a social taboo for eons.

Be willing to listen. Even if professional help is needed, your loved one will be more willing to seek help if you have listened to him or he.

2. Affection

Voice your concern. Take the initiative to ask what is troubling your loved one, and attempt to overcome any reluctance on their part to talk about it.

Let the person know you care and understand. Reassure them that they are not alone. Explain that even if it seems hard to believe right now, suicidal feelings – although powerful – are only temporary, and that the usual cause (depression) can be treated.

3. Treatment.

Get professional help immediately.

If the person seems unwilling to accept treatment...
- Call a local emergency room for resources and advice.

If the person seems willing to accept treatment, do one of the following…
- Bring him or her to a local emergency room or community mental health center. Your friend will be more likely to seek help if you accompany him or her.

Bloodstream

When alcohol enters the blood, it causes the blood vessels to widen. More blood flows to the skin's surface. However, the drinker's body temperature drops as the increased blood flow to the surface allows body heat to escape. People who drink alcohol in cold weather to get warm actually accomplish the opposite.

Brain

How does alcohol effect the brain? When alcohol reaches the brain, it immediately has a depressant effect. People who drink alcohol may describe the change as relaxing. What they actually experience are physical changes such as loss of sensation and a decrease in sharpness of vision, hearing, and other senses. Alcohol also affects the parts of the brain that control muscle coordination, which is why drinkers may loose their balance or stumble.

If drinking continues, alcohol depresses the part of the brain that controls breathing and heart beat. Breathing rates, pulse rates, and blood pressure, which initially increased, now decrease. A drinker may loose consciousness, slip into a coma, or die from alcohol poisoning

Heavy drinkers and many first-time drinkers may suffer blackouts. Other people recall seeing the drinker walking, talking, and in control. The following day however, the drinker has no memory of some events the day before.

Liver

When alcohol enters the liver, the liver breaks down alcohol into energy and the waste products carbon dioxide and water. The carbon dioxide is released from the body in the lungs. The water passes out of the body as breath vapor, perspiration, or urine. When people drink alcohol faster than the liver can break it down, they become intoxicated.

Kidneys

Alcohol prevents the release of body chemicals that regulates how much urine the kidneys make. The kidneys produce more urine than usual, and the drinker looses more water than usual. The drinker becomes very thirsty. In extreme cases, a drinker may loose water needed for the body to function properly.

Follow these steps to stop drinking alcohol :

1. Find your reasons. You should make a list of the reasons you want to stop drinking alcohol. You also want to ask a trusted friend or family member to help you make the list complete. Keep this list you can renew your commitment from time to time.

2. Setting the date to stop drinking, make a plan. Complete the plan to stop drinking alcohol. Post it in a place where you can see it often, such as on your refrigerator door or bathroom mirror. You might want to put it in more than one place. You also might want to put it on a card and keep it in your purse or wallet.

3. Share your plan with others. Talk with your family members and trusted friends about your plan. Let them know how they can help you to be successful.

4. Evaluate your progress. In your plan, identify when you will evaluate your progress. Try a plan for 30 days so that the new behaviour becomes a habit. Review your reasons for stopping alcohol use. Write down the benefits that you are seeing. If you drank after successfully stopping (relapse), it does not mean that you have failed. Relapse is common. Begin again, using your experience to help you learn how to stick with your plan this time.

5. Continue your new behaviours. After trying this plan for 30 days, try it for another 30 days. Like anything else in life, it is not easy to change behaviour, even when it might be in your best interest. But the more you practise new behaviours, the more likely it is that they will become habits. If you try this plan but are not successful, talk with your doctor about other ways to stop drinking alcohol.
